ITS Data Fusion:
ATIS/ATMS Regional ITS Demonstration

Description:

ITS development based on a single type of data is severely limited. Only through access to, and integration of, multiple data sources can we assure the accuracy and reliability of the overall transportation picture presented by an ITS application. This project proposes to design, construct, and demonstrate a data fusion system for use in a regional ITS. The fusion system will combine data from multi-agency and multi-jurisdictional sources to provide a more accurate, real-time picture of the transportation system. This fusion system will operate in a distributed computing environment that encourages interagency cooperation.
